PyMaemo and the broken repository

PyMaemo has got a lot of downloads and votes since beginning of this month. It's great to see this project growing and getting more and more people involved. I would like to count with you and your patience during these days that repository is broken. All platforms (OS2006, 2007 and 2008) are affected by this problem and until now there is no information about fixes. As soon as repository get ready again we will upload some bugfixes to PyMaemo OS2008. Other changes will be done in install files to use only the extras repository (following the correct repository usage policy).

And How can I install python without the official repository?

According bug report, you can use stage.repository.maemo. Another workaround, from maemo-dev mailing list, is to remove a letter from repository, like: repostory.maemo.org. This will re-route the packages. These changes can be made in Application Manager repositories list. Just enable the Extras repository and change its address properly.

Did you plan to make hildon-desktop binding as there is no news from the one coded by Lucas Rocha ?

It's a possibility. I've reopened your request at bugzilla.

I think Lucas Rocha is on vacation.

Thanks.

I ve make so test to use the work already made by lucasr but without success, i ve been able to compile it, but module is never loaded. Path variable from the .desktop file seem's to wrong used to load the desktop applet.
